Don Singleton
I have been a member of the APCUG Board of Directors since January 1, 1994, and am running again for another term, and would appreciate your support. I was Event Coordinator for the APCUG PC Expo event in '98 (showing a small profit when most thought I would fail miserably), and an assistant to the event coordinator in '99. I put on over a dozen roundtable sessions at Spring PC Expo and Spring and Fall Comdex, before my health prevented me from attending such conferences. I served one year as APCUG Secretary, and one year as APCUG Vice President, and served from 1997 to 2003 as Chair of Online Services (APCUG WebMaster), during which time I made significant improvements to the APCUG Web Site (http://apcug.org) and championed a number of new internet services that APCUG provides to its member user groups. I also served as Chair of Community Services in 2004, where I reinvigorated the Jerry Awards Competition, and as Chair of the Elections Committee for many terms. If you have any additional services (internet related or not) you would like to see us consider, please contact me at dsingleton@apcug.net. While some seem to favor cutting back on services to the membership, I feel that the reason APCUG exists is to provide as many services as possible to its member user groups. In my local User Group capacity I am President, Editor, and WebMaster of the Tulsa Computer Society (http://tcs.org), and am very active in its Computer Refurbishing Group (http://helpingtulsa.org).
