Douglas R. Spindler is a Microsoft Certified Trainer. Doug has written for Windows & .NET Magazine Network. AS a volunteer he is the president of Pacific IT Professionals. Pacific IT Professionals is an independent non-profit professional association for IT Directors, IT Systems Managers, Server Administrators, Network Administrators, and other IT Professionals whose job it is to deploy, maintain, upgrade, support or troubleshoot Windows servers or workstations, Exchange, SQL, IIS, routers, firewalls, Apple computers, Novell servers, Linux servers in business environments. Membership in Pacific IT Professionals is at just over 6,000 and support 8 million desktops. (As confirmed by an Independent audit conducted by Microsoft.) The professional association meets monthly to share experiences, troubleshooting techniques, problems with products, security concerns, and to learn about the latest Microsoft technologies. The group was founded in 1985 and meets monthly in downtown San Francisco on the first Tuesday of the month. The monthly San Francisco meeting is web-simulcast live to meeting locations in Sacramento, Fresno, Reno/Lake Tahoe, Las Vegas, Silicon Valley, Santa Rosa, and Los Angeles. Other monthly meetings take place in Pleasanton, Pleasant Hill, and Los Angeles. Pac IT Pros has special internet meetings on PowerShell, SQL, .NET, Exchange, Microsoft CRM, IT Security, Office Communications Server, Networking, Mobile computing, and Microsoft’s Small Business Server.
