Marie Vesta got her first look at a home computer in 1984. She joined the Pasco Area Computer User Group in 1998, became Vice President in 2001, President from 2003 until present. Currently she is a member of Tampa Bay Computer Society and represents that group. She was Program Chairman for the Florida Association of Computer User Group, (FACUG), conferences in 2005 and 2006. She served as Vice President and then as President of Florida Association of Computer User Group, (FACUG), for two years. She coordinated and hosted a highly successful state wide conference both years, the second conference in conjunction with APCUG. As a result of her activities, she was fortunate enough to have been invited to the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, Washington, to attend and participate in an MVP Summit She creates and maintains websites for mobile home parks in the Central Florida area. She travels the Central Florida area giving presentations to various user groups. She has been married for 44 years, has two sons and four grandchildren. She taught art for over 20 years and retired in 1996 after operating her own ceramic and art studio along with her husband, Steve. By having a husband who was in the Air Force for 26 years, she has had the opportunity of living overseas as well as in different parts of the United States. She is a people person, with the skills necessary to bring people with differing opinions together to gain a consensus, yet firm enough to actively espouse her own position. My goal on the APCUG Board of Directors is help keep the organization focused, tempered, stable, and rooted firmly in reality. I feel strongly that in order to keep and attract new members, we need positive experiences working together to have an impact. I will work diligently to help achieve these goals. | |
