Kudos to Joe Dietz who came up with the idea and its execution.
Bring an old or new photo to the meeting and have one of our members attempt to enhance the imaging using the tools of Paint Shop Pro.
Guidelines
Participants can bring a photo, a slide or a negative – either as a hard copy or on a CD or floppy disc. If a hard copy is submitted, we will scan it with the CKCS scanner. Once an image is up on the computer, we will ask the owner of the image and the other attendees to assist us in deciding what needs to be done to enhance the image and then go to work on it.
As we work on the image, we will explain what tools we are using and how they work. After the image has been enhanced, we can print it out and/or save it to a CD and/or e-mail it to the owner.
We will try to limit the time for each photo to around 10 minutes (depending on the number of photos, of course). If a photo is toooo messed up with tears, out of focus or whatever, we may have to reject it. If time permits, we can do a second image for participants.
