Fund Raising / Member Training & Education

Always thoroughly read your NOOZ! Information about the Cajun Clickers’ PC Optimization Day was contained in a NOOZ to Region 1 by then Advisor, Sherry Zorzi; and, again, after their new Advisor, Judy Taylour, attended Sherry’s Fund Raising workshop at Fall Conference 2003.

The Business and Professional Microcomputer Users Group in West Hartford, CT, has had two PC Tune-up Days this year. Their goal was not as much fund raiser as it was to learn from each other, do something good for the community, get some more members involved in an activity, and have some fun. Plus, in addition to all that good stuff, they also got some money to put in the coffers!

They took in $155 at the second event; spent $60 for coffee, pastries, pizza & sodas throughout the day (you can tell what their priorities were <g>).

More importantly, they met their goal of banishing dozens of viruses, hundreds of spyware bugs, and thousands of unnecessary files from several computers. They enlightened some PC users on things to do to improve the performance of their computers and they also learned from each other.

If you would like a copy of the BPMUG and/or Cajun Clickers’ check-off list, please contact Judy Taylour at jtaylour@apcug.net. You will also receive a copy of the BPMUG schedule for the day that was handed out to volunteers.
